An agitator device is used in conjunction with a rotary screw pump of a n oil production tubing string. The device comprises an agitator body coupled to the rotor of the pump to extend below the pump for rotation with the rotor. The body is elongate and twisted about its longitudinal axis. Mixing apertures extend diametrically through the body.
