An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce the difference of transmittance between unit pixels, thereby improving the white balance, by respectively controlling the thicknesses of red, green, and blue color filters. Red, green, and blue color filters(215) are positioned on an opposite substrate(200), and have different thicknesses. An opposite electrode(220) is positioned on the color filters. An array substrate(100) corresponds to the opposite substrate, and pixel electrodes(120) are positioned on the array substrate. A liquid crystal layer(155) is interposed between the array substrate and the opposite substrate. The red color filter has a smaller thickness than the green color filter and the blue color filter. |
