A control method of a digital broadcasting receiving system is provided to selectively perform a desired function through a function selection screen. At the waiting mode of a digital broadcasting receiving system(202), a control block checks whether there is a power-on manipulation signal in response to the user's input signal(204). If there is a power-on manipulation signal, the control block checks whether a CI module is mounted(206). If a CI module is mounted, the control block provides a control signal to a menu generating block so that a menu screen is generated. The generated menu screen is transmitted to a decoding block and then displayed through a monitor(210). The control block checks whether there is a CI module selection manipulating signal(212).
