A drum-type washing machine having a sterilizing apparatus using photo catalyst is provided to improve the sterilizing performance of the laundry and the washing tub by installing the ultraviolet lamp at the upper part of the door. A drum-type washing machine having a sterilizing apparatus using photo catalyst is composed of: a washing tub(12) in which a compound is made of the photo catalyst, a hydrophobic material, and a coating paint of the rest; and a ultraviolet lamp(35) mounted at the upper part of the door to the radial inner direction of the washing tub. The light catalyst is a titanium oxide. The hydrophobic material is a poly olefin compound.
