A system and a method for searching a character string in word dialing are provided to improve the use rate of a service and user's convenience by correcting an error in inputting characters for word dialing. A terminal(105) implements a word dialing function. A mobile communication network(101) interworks with a fixed line telephone network. A database(109) stores number string information corresponding to the word dialing, character string information corresponding to the number string, and callback information corresponding to the character string information. A search server(107) receives the number string information through the mobile communication network(101), checks whether the currently received number string information and destination number corresponding to the number string information exist in the database(109), and controls a call connection related to the number string information according to the search result, or makes a list of similar character string information related to a character string corresponding to the number string information and corresponding destination number information and transmits the list to the origination terminal(105). |
