Treatment of alkaline wastewater from laundry, by contact with acidic gas produced by laundry

The wastewater (2) is neutralized with an acidic gas (9) produced by the laundry (3). A method for treating alkaline wastewater from laundries comprises contacting the wastewater with an acidic gaseous flow produced by the laundry in order to at least partially neutralize the wastewater. An independent claim is also included for the system for carrying out this treatment, comprising at least one neutralization region (11) through which the alkaline wastewater and acidic gaseous flow are passed.
