<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that forms an image of high image quality by preventing unsatisfactory development density resulting from insufficient supply of developer to a developing roller, thereby improving uniformity of image density, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a supply roller 45 disposed above a first stir member 43 and downstream of the first stir member 43 in the direction of developer conveyance; a guide member 46 disposed between the supply roller 45 and the developing roller 41 and used to guide developer, conveyed by the supply roller 45, to the developing roller 41; and an upper lid member 52 disposed above the guide member 46. In the developing device, a developer rectifying space W enclosed by the developing roller 41, the supply roller 45, the guide member 46, a developer quantity regulating member 51 and the upper lid member 52 is formed, and when a quantity of developer supplied by the supply roller 45 is set to X and a quantity of developer conveyed onto the developing roller 41 from the developer rectifying space W after passed through the guide member 46 is set to Y, a relation expressed by X>Y is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
