<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle data sent by a direct print as a hold print, and also to automatically set data sent with a password attached as a confidential print at the side of a printer driver. <P>SOLUTION: A machine control part 8 is equipped with the judgment function of judging whether or not the password is attached to received data. When it is judged by the judgment function that the password is attached, the received data is handled as the hold print whose output is limited while stored in a hard disk 13. The password attached to the data is utilized as a personal identification number which enables outputting of the hold print data. The password is stored together with the data in the hard disk 13.
