<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress production of an abnormal image with spots which rarely occurs in the first sheet on forming an image first in the morning. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus charges a photoreceptor drum 2 by using a charging roller 3 in contact with or in proximity to the drum 2, wherein the apparatus is equipped with a current measuring unit 102 to detect a current flowing in the charging roller 3, and with a controller 100 to determine a preliminary operation time prior to image formation based on the current detected by the current measuring unit 102 during the preliminary operation prior to image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
