<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthodontic appliance by which insertion of an orthodontic wire is facilitated, while preventing uncomfortable feeling and further the orthodontic wire can be securely retained. <P>SOLUTION: The orthodontic appliance comprises an almost flat shape seat with attaching face for attachment to tooth and an engaging piece integrated with and projecting from the seat so as to engage and support the orthodontic wire. In the engaging piece, an intermediate part is bent to make the tip end be almost along the seat into an almost ring shape and form a retaining space to retain the orthodontic wire in an engaged state and a guiding passage for guiding the orthodontic wire into the retaining space at the tip end of the engaging piece.
