PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil temperature detection structure of an engine for a motorcycle, which stores lubricating oil returning from a cylinder head in an oil reservoir integrally formed with a crank case, and measures oil temperature. SOLUTION: The oil temperature detection structure of the engine for the motorcycle includes: a cylinder head 3; a cylinder block 4; and a crank case 5, and measures temperature of lubrication oil lubricating the engine 1 mounted on the motorcycle in such a manner that a cylinder chamber 7 provided on the cylinder block 4 extending in roughly horizontal direction to ground. The structure also consists of: the oil reservoir 49 integrally formed in the front bottom part of the crank case 5 with the crank case 5 and having lubrication oil returned from the cylinder head 3 stored therein, and an oil temperature sensor 50 attached to the crank case 5 and measuring temperature of oil stored in the oil reservoir 49.
