PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser apparatus which is simply assembled and secures a light receiving quantity of a monitoring laser beam. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a lead frame 11; a semiconductor laser element 13 to be set on the lead frame 11 and to emit a main laser beam L1, and the monitoring laser beam L2 to an opposite direction of the main laser beam L1; a light receiving element 14 to be set on the lead frame 11 under the optical path of the monitoring laser beam L2 with a light receiver 15 facing upward, and a dome-shaped lens 19 to be fixed on the light receiver 15 of the light receiving element 14, so as to shut out the monitoring laser beam L2 and to lead the monitoring laser beam L2 to the light receiver 15.
