PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine with which a biologically recognized individual can drink many cups within fixed time, for example, when articles are soft drinks, etc. and unauthorized use that one person drinks cups for many persons is prevented. SOLUTION: The automatic vending machine has an article provision means 1 for providing articles, a living body recognition means 2 for recognizing a living body individual, a database means 3 in which information such as data unique to the living body individual by the living body recognition means is stored, a time counting means 4 for counting time from any point of time after recognition by the living body recognition means to the present, an article provision time setting means 5 for setting time when the articles can be provided about the individual recognized by the living body recognition means, an article provision requesting means for requesting provision of the articles by the individual recognized by the living body recognition means and an article provision means control means 7 for driving the article provision means to provide the articles when the point of time in which the request of article provision is issued by the article provision requesting means is within time determined by the article provision time setting means from start of measurement by the time counting means.
