PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode connection tool and an electrode connection method for ensuring the mounting of an object electrode in a conductive state on a coated and embedded pipe, in measuring earth resistance for performing corrosion diagnosis on the coated and embedded pipe which is a measuring object. SOLUTION: This electrode connection tool for connecting electrodes for an electric circuit to the measuring object is equipped with: a pair of electrode members 10 put to connection in such a form that its base end side is supported on a support part while its end side is put into contact with the measuring object; an interelectrode resistance value measuring part 20 for measuring an interelectrode resistance value which is a resistance value between the pair of electrode members 10 with the measuring object interposed between them; and a switch 30 for switching the connection state of an electrode 10a for measurement which is one of the pair of electrode members 10 between an interelectrode resistance value measurement state in which the electrode 10a is connected to the measuring part 20 and an electric circuit connection state in which the electrode 10a is connected to the electric circuit.
