PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a temperature difference between coated fuel particles of a fuel comprising a plurality of kinds of coated fuel particles having each different enrichment, and thereby to remove a thermal or mechanical influence of the coated fuel particles to avoid fracture thereof; and also to reduce the difference of a thermal expansion amount of a graphite matrix to prevent crack of the fuel. SOLUTION: In this fuel for a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor comprising the plurality of kinds of coated fuel particles 12H, 12L having each different enrichment, the diameter of a fuel kernel of the coated fuel particle 12H having high enrichment is adjusted to be smaller than the diameter of a fuel kernel of the coated fuel particle 12L having low enrichment, and thereby each surface temperature of the coated fuel particles is brought close to each other or equalized even if each enrichment is different. Hereby, the coated fuel particles have no temperature difference, and generation of a local high-temperature domain is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
