PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector capable of efficiently collecting soot dispersed from a soot generating source. SOLUTION: The dust collector 1 for preventing the diffusion of soot gas generated from a ladle refining furnace in a steel-making factory, to working environment, has a surrounding device 2 partitioning all sides and an upper part of a space above the ladle refining furnace 5 from the working environment and having an opening 7 for carrying in a graphite electrode 56, at the upper part; an electrode carry-in door 3 provided at the upper part of the surrounding device to open/close the opening; and an exhaust means 3 connected to the surrounding device to connect the space to an exhaust duct 34 extending to the outside of the working environment.
