PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing speed by shortening sheet supply intervals to a printer, a cutting device and the like. SOLUTION: In this sheet feeding method, when paper sheets P set on a sheet storage part are fed to a printing head 5 one by one by a paper feeding roller 4 and a paper delivery roller 6, a tip and a rear end of the first paper sheet P1 are detected by a paper sheet detection sensor 7, and based on the feeding amount, paper length is calculated and stored. As for the second paper sheet P2 or after, after the paper sheet detection sensor 7 detects the tip of the paper sheet, when the amount obtained by subtracting predetermined length (length set to be below a distance from the front end of the paper sheet on a loading plate to the paper detection sensor 7) from the length of the first paper sheet P1 is sent, feeding of the next paper sheet P3 is started. Due to this constitution, since next paper sheet feeding is started before a rear end of a paper sheet passes through the paper sheet detection sensor 7 in the downstream side of the sheet storage part, intervals for feeding paper sheets can be shortened, compared to a conventional method in which next paper sheet feeding is started after a rear end of a paper sheet passes through the paper sheet detection sensor 7.
