PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical system which accurately specifies a medical device automatically staring/terminating and a medical device monitoring method. SOLUTION: A user/device information management part 12 in the monitoring device 10 of the medical system 100 sets a user's working status from user identification information detected by an entering/leaving detecting part 11 placed at a doorway of a medical facility. Next, the part 12 specifies the medical device 20 subjected to the start/termination based on the user's access privilege, which is set in advance from the user's working status and access history of the past, to the medical device 20, and supplies command signals to start the medical device 20 set from the operating conditions of the specified medical device 20 to a start/termination control part 15. Then, the start/termination control part 15 supplies start/termination control signals to a power source part 21 of the set medical device 20 to control ON/OFF of the power source part 21.
