The present invention relates to compositions, methods and kits for improving the appearance or reducing the size of a closed wound or scar. The composition includes a therapeutically effective amount of at least one non- steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, such as a cyclooxygenase inhibitor and/or NF-kB inhibitor in combination with a polyethylene glycol material. The composition also may include one or more of the following: methyl parabenzene, propyl parabenzene, butylated hydroxy toluene, aloe vera, and vitamin E. The composition further may include an anti-irritant, an anti-prurient, an anti-microbial, and/or a deodorant agent. The composition of the present invention may be administered topically or transdermally. |
