Protection of program execution performed by an integrated circuit

The method involves initializing a counter and tracking an execution of a program. The program execution is interrupted normally when the counter attains a given value that is chosen randomly from a range of values. An integrity control of a calculation is executed after the interruption. An upper limit of the range is selected based on the normal execution of the program, such that any prejudicial instruction is only intervened before the execution of the integrity control.
