<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that ensures excellent power consumption efficiency, in matching with the actual conditions for a printing form. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus can be driven at a plurality of processing speeds, and to print on usual regular paper, a regular paper mode in which 1/1 speed is assigned is used; whereas when a user sets a power saving mode through the printer driver 27 of a host computer D or a control panel 22 within the image forming apparatus A, image formation is carried out by first setting the processing speed to 1/2 speed and then setting a fixing temperature so as to obtain glossiness equal to that obtained in the regular paper mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
