<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe allowing a braided wick to be kept in close contact with the inner surface of a container without using an elastic interior material such as a spiral material. <P>SOLUTION: The heat pipe 1 is filled with a condensable operating fluid 4 inside the container 2 sealed in an airtight state, and provided with the wick 7. The wick 7 is composed of a braided body 8 formed by braiding fine wires 6a in a mesh state, and springy wires 6b larger in resilience than the fine wires 6a are braided into the braided body 8.
