<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a vehicle which ensures the field of vision of a driver of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian or the like, and can prevent another accident from occurring because the situation of the vehicle can easily be recognized by a third person. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device for the vehicle is equipped with a bag main body 10 and an inflator 11. In this case, the bag body 10 is normally housed under a folded state, and can cover a car body 2 from the external side at the time of an expansion development. The inflator 11 can feed a gas into the bag body 10 when the collision with the pedestrian or the like is detected, or a state right before collision is detected.
