<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bright-field light source for fluorescence observations which enables a simultaneous observation of a fluorescent affected area and the peripheral part and a surgical microscope loaded with the same. <P>SOLUTION: Since the light source (a white LED) 17 emitting visible light with a wavelength region (672 nm) which is equivalent to the fluorescence of the affected area A and has emission intensity relatively lower than the other regions or a light source emitting visible light with a wavelength cut by a filter is used, the peripheral area B of the fluorescent affected area A is observed in a bright field. Since the wavelength equivalent to the fluorescence has relatively low intensity or is cut, the wavelength does not hinder the fluorescence observation. Since the surgical microscope 1 is loaded with the light source (the white LED) 17 for fluorescence observation and an excitation light source (a semiconductor laser emitter) 18, the surgical microscope is user-friendly without the need to support them by other means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
