PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a spring bearing member capable of receiving a spring for energizing a rod of a shift lever. SOLUTION: In this shift lever device, a rod 4, which is provided inside a metal tube 2 composing a shift lever, is urged to a base end portion of the shift lever by the spring 7. Movement of a knob button 6 of a knob 1 connected to the top end of the metal tube 2 is converted to that of the rod 4 inside the metal tube 2 to lift the rod 4 against the urging force of the spring 7. A spring bearing tube 20 receiving the knob side of the spring 7 is accommodated in the metal tube 2 and a projection portion 20b formed on the circumferential surface of the spring bearing tube 20 is fitted into a fitting hole 2b formed on the inner surface of the metal tube 2.
