PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator for a vehicle improved in the cooling performance of a stator winding. SOLUTION: At least one joining part 301 among a plurality of joining parts of the stator winding 23 is not located at the tip of the winding but extends in the axial direction from the tip, and a joining area S1 of the extended joining part is not less than 1.5 times the conductor cross section S2 of a conductor segment. By this, coil end linear parts 231d', 232d function as heat radiation fins suppressed in an increase in generation amount, and thus the cooling performance of the stator winding 23 is improved.
