PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a apparatus for predicting communication data quantity, enabling a user to know the total sum of data communication quantity of executable at access points during travelling a set route to a destination. SOLUTION: The apparatus has an access point detecting means 12 for searching traveling routes, on the basis of input of a destination to set the optimum traveling route as a set route, and detecting access points for road-to-vehicle communication provided on the set route; data communication quantity predicting means 23, 33, 24, 34 for predicting the data communication quantity that can be executed at each of the detected access points; and a total data communication quantity calculating means 15 for obtaining the sum of the data communication quantity executable, when travelling the set route from the data communication quantity predicted by the data communication quantity predicting means.
