PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup adjusting apparatus in which the position of a hologram element can be easily and accurately adjusted, in the manufacturing process of the optical pickup dividing reflected light from an optical recording medium using the hologram element. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: an imaging device 15 arranged at a position at which a multi-division light receiving element is arranged; and a calculating means 16 calculating light intensity distribution of luminous flux received in a region corresponding to the light receiving part of the multi-division light receiving element in this imaging device 15 on the basis of the image of each luminous flux divided by a hologram element 10 imaged by the imaging device 15. The position of this hologram element 11 in a radial direction is adjusted so that light intensity of luminous flux passed through the region of one side of the hologram element 11 and light intensity of luminous flux passed through the region of the other side become equal on the basis of the calculated result by the calculating means 16.
