PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which can be easily manufactured without containing an unnecessary component and which is excellent in toner characteristics such as stability even for long-term use. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner for electrostatic charge image development includes: a mixture liquid preparation step of preparing a mixture liquid by mixing a water dispersion liquid of a pigment with a water dispersion liquid of binder resin particles containing self-dispersion type polyester binder resin particles which are synthesized from a polyvalent carboxylic acid having at least three carboxyl groups and/or its acid anhydride and a polyhydric alcohol and which have a carboxylic acid as a hydrophilic group in the main chain; and an aggregate forming step of forming an aggregate comprising the above self-dispersion type binder resin particles to which a pigment and microencapsulated wax fine particles are bonded, by adding a polyvalent metal salt as an aggregating agent while stirring the above mixture liquid.
