PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply constituted illuminating apparatus capable of illuminating illumination images of a plurality of various patterns with uniform illuminance. SOLUTION: The illuminating apparatus includes; a plurality of LEDs 12a to 12e; a fly eye lens 23 with a plurality of lens parts 23b for emitting the entering light beams outgoing from respective LEDs 12a to 12e to a specified illumination area in an overlap state; a light shielding plate 38 for limiting the optical paths of the outgoing light beams from respective LEDs 12a to 12e and inhibiting that the outgoing light beams from various LEDs are made incident on the same lens part 23b; and a light shielding mask 24 with light-transmissive opening parts corresponding to respective lens parts 23b of the fly eye lens 23. The respective light-transmissive openings formed in the light shielding mask 24 are constituted of light-transmissive parts 25a to 25e whose shapes are varied in accordance with respective lens parts 23b corresponding to respective LEDs 12a to 12e.
