PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined variable focus lens which is inexpensive, convenient to carry and can use a concave lens and a convex lens simultaneously. SOLUTION: The spaces 3 of two variable focus lenses 4a and 4b are communicated with a communication pipe 5, each space 3 being defined between a light-transmissive rigid film 1a and light-transmissive flexible film 1b attached to an annular frame 2 so as to be parallel to each other with a distance between them and being filled with water. The spaces 3 filled with water and communicated with each other are closed. The two variable focus lenses 4a and 4b have a vertically positional relation such that water in the space 3 of the upper variable focus lens 4a moves into the space 3 of the lower focus variable lens 4b by gravity, and thereby the upper variable focus lens 4a functions as the concave lens and the lower variable focus lens 4b as the projection lens. This makes the combined variable focus lens l cost-efficient and convenient to carry and makes it possible to simultaneously use the convex lens and concave lens. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
