PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress problems such as degradation in image quality due to deposition of a fatty acid metal salt separating from a toner base surface onto a toner carrier surface when a fatty acid metal salt is deposited on the surface of a toner base in order to improve fluidity of the toner. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner comprises a toner base and an external additive, wherein inorganic oxide particles and a fatty acid metal salt are used as the external additive, and a film of the fatty acid metal salt is formed on the surface of the toner base to a film thickness corresponding to two molecules of the fatty acid metal salt. Thereby, a deposition amount of the fatty acid metal salt can be decreased to the minimum within a range to obtain the effect of improving the fluidity of the toner, and the amount of the fatty acid metal salt separating from the toner base is suppressed to the minimum to eliminate occurrence of the above problems.
