PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle deformation measuring method and a vehicle deformation measuring system capable of measuring more accurately the deformation state of each part in a vehicle impact experiment. SOLUTION: This vehicle deformation measuring system includes an index body 2 including a strut 4 whose one end side in the longitudinal direction is fixed to a vehicle 1A and whose other end side is fixed to a target 3, a deformation sensor 6 provided on the strut 4, for detecting deformation of the strut 4; and a vehicle fixing position acquisition means for acquiring the vehicle fixing position of the strut 4 based on position information of the target 3 acquired by using an imaging means, and deformation information of the strut 4 between the vehicle fixing position of the strut 4 acquired by using the deformation sensor 6 and the mounting position of the target.
