A sequin feeder, wherein a sequin connection body (60) reeled out from a reel and placed on the upper surface of a supporting plate (8) is fed out at a specified pitch matching the size of one piece of sequin (S'), and when a needle bar (31) is lowered by a sewing operation, a movable blade (27) is energized downward by the contact thereof with the needle bar (31) or a member (32) moved in conjunction with the needle bar (31) after a sewing needle (41) is fitted into a hole (61) in the sequin (S') at the tip of the sequin connection body to cut off the sequin (S') at the tip. The thickness of the portion (27a) of the movable blade (27) for cutting the sequin is made smaller than the thickness of the portion (27b) thereof in contact with the needle bar (31) or the member (32) moved in conjunction with the needle bar (31) to secure strength. For example, the thickness of the portion (27a) corresponding to a needle location is made smaller, and the shape of the movable blade (27) is formed so that, when the movable blade (27) is in an attitude taken before the movable blade (27) is brought into contact with the needle bar (31) or the interlocked member (32), the upper part (u) of the portion (27a) of the movable blade (27) where its thickness is reduced is positioned on the lower side of the uppermost part (T) of the portion (27b) of the movable blade where its thickness is not reduced. |
