METHODS FOR CONNECTION OF SPLICED PRESTRESSED CONCRETE I-GIRDER SEGMENTS

A method of connecting segments of a spliced prestressed concrete I-type girder is provided to increase the structural strength according to the formation of the fixture of the junction tendon at the tendon ducts. A method of connecting segments(25) of a spliced prestressed concrete I-type girder is composed of the step of manufacturing the segments installed with a tendon duct(22) whose one end of the duct is opened to the upper side of the lower flange and other end is opened to the junction surface with another segment, at the outer part of the lower flange of each segment; approaching the segments; fitting a junction tendon(20) at the tendon ducts of the pair of closely contacted segments and exposing both ends of the tendon to the upper side of the lower flange of the closely contacted segments; and tightening the junction tendon between the both ends and fixing the both ends at each segment.
