<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a file management device capable of formatting a recording medium to provide a user with information detailed more than before prior to execution of the formatting. <P>SOLUTION: The file management device detects the total number of files of a prescribed classification out of files recorded in the recording medium and displays the total numbers 403 and 405 of files in a format menu picture 450 of the recording medium together with information 402 and 404 representing file classifications. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
