<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-disk frictional engagement device capable of securing a frictional engagement force necessary for the multi-disk frictional engagement device by increasing the contact area of drive plates on driven plates when the multi-disk frictional engagement device is engaged. <P>SOLUTION: Triangular cutouts 2 are formed at the outer peripheral edges of the drive plates 1 formed in a waveform shape. Accordingly, when the drive plates 1 and the driven plates disposed alternately to each other are compressed, the pressing force of a piston necessary for deform the drive plates 1 to flat annular bodies by collapsing the waveforms of the drive plates 1 must not be excessively raised.
