PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recording reproducer capable of reproducing while cutting commercials in approximately real time without needing a sufficient time lapsed until the viewing start after starting a broadcast. SOLUTION: The program recording reproducer reproduces while recording a broadcast program and cuts commercials in the broadcast program. It has a means (5) for acquiring program information of the broadcast program, a means (6) for detecting the commercials from the broadcast program being broadcasted, a commercial data storing means (7) for storing the appearing times of the commercials in the broadcast program in a database, and means (8, 3, 9) for skipping the commercials in the broadcast program to reproduce at a lower reproducing speed than a predetermined standard reproducing speed, based on the appearing time of the commercials, the program end time, and the reproduction start time.
