PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket capable of avoiding drop of a lamp when a thermal load is received without adding an component. SOLUTION: In a socket body 1 made of a resin, a slot 2 for inserting a pair of lamp pins 11 of a lamp base in a direction perpendicular to a projecting direction thereof is formed continuously from a side surface to a front surface thereof. A pair of contact pieces 21 come into contact with the pair of lamp pins 11 in the socket body 1. The pair of contact pieces 21 are respectively formed of elongated plates vertically extended to horizontally face each other; lamp pin holding parts 20 respectively bent to prevent the lamp pins 11 from dropping are formed at positions of the pair of contact pieces 21 in contact with the lamp pins 11; and the pair of contact pieces 21 are fixed to the socket body 1 at positions separated from the lamp pin holding parts 20.
