PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage treating apparatus having a structure capable of largely improving ability to cope with load fluctuation without increasing an installation space or substantially increasing equipment costs. SOLUTION: The sewage treating apparatus performs the purifying treatment of sewage by successively supplying the sewage to a plurality of treatment tanks. The treatment tanks has a microorganism treatment tank composed of an anaerobic tank for performing a first stage treatment by anaerobes and an aerobic tank for performing a second stage treatment by aerobes, and a swing floor type microorganism carrier is arranged inside both of the anaerobic tank and the aerobic tank.
