PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the gain of a depth position of an ultrasonic image, so as to improve operability, by facilitating the adjustment of the STC (sensitivity time control) gain, i.e., directly designating the position of the ultrasonic image in the depth direction, which is displayed on a display screen. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus for displaying the ultrasonic image of a subject on a monitor 30 includes a touch panel 31 for allowing a vertical coordinates to coincide with the depth direction coordinate of the ultrasonic image on the surface of the monitor and allowing a horizontal coordinates to correspond to the STC gain for adjusting the ultrasonic image. The finger of an operator touches a desired position on the touch panel, so as to perform tracing in a horizontal or oblique direction. Accordingly, the STC gain at the depth position of the ultrasonic image where the finger of the operator is put is adjusted in real-time. Consequently, the STC gain is adjusted by one operation, while directly designating the depth position with respect to the ultrasonic image displayed on the monitor, so that the operability is extremely improved.
