The head has a combustion chamber seal (4) made of capillaries (6) that lie close to one another with a bare sheathing jacket located above the capillaries. The jacket forms an intermediate space for recording actual temperature and pressure values. Liquid, such as water with a low thermal conductivity, is fed to the capillaries and is filled up in the intermediate space through a check value, where the liquid is fed either directly or indirectly by a variable discharge pump that is coupled with an internal combustion engine.
