<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for optical recording/reproducing, capable of suppressing the effect of a gap change amount on recording/reproducing characteristics during fast rotation, and an optical pickup device. <P>SOLUTION: The method for performing recording and/or reproducing by applying a near field light to an optical recording medium 1 includes a step of applying two or more light beams as near field light beams to the optical recording medium 1, a step of detecting the information on a distance from the optical recording medium 1 based on one of the two or more light beams applied to the front side of a scanning direction with respect to the optical recording medium 1, and a step of performing recording compensation and/or reproducing compensation by near field light application, by the remaining light beams based on the distance information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
