PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic monocomponent developer which ensures stable transport performance over a prolonged period of time, and an image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: The magnetic monocomponent toner contains 45-65 wt.% of a binder resin, 1-15 wt.% of a wax and 30-50 wt.% of magnetic powder, based on the total amount. The image forming method using the toner is also provided. The toner contains a first polyester resin whose weight average molecular weight peak is 1.0×10<SP>4</SP>-5.0×10<SP>4</SP>and a second polyester resin whose weight average molecular weight peak is 1.0×10<SP>6</SP>-5.0×10<SP>6</SP>as the binder resin, and the second polyester resin contains 5-30 wt.% of a tetrahydrofuran-insoluble component based on the total amount of the binder resin. The wax is an ester compound or Fischer-Tropsch wax and has such a melting property as a temperature region of 70-95°C from the beginning of melting to the end of melting.
