PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shrink proof finishing agent capable of imparting highly safe and sufficient shrink proof properties and flexibility without causing problems of release of formalin harmful to a human body, deterioration and smell in a non-formalin type urea resin, and hardening of feeling, reduction of strength, or the like in a fiber, in the shrink proof finishing of the fiber. SOLUTION: The shrink proof finishing agent for the fiber contains (A) a urethane resin and (B) a halohydrin ether compound.
