<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system and a communication method thereof whereby communication opportunities are evenly provided to subscriber terminals for directly making communication with a wireless base station and subscriber terminals indirectly making communication with the wireless base station via a relay station in wireless data communication adopting the P-MP system. <P>SOLUTION: In comparison with the OFDM frame configuration stipulated by the IEEE802.16, the OFDM frame configuration adopted by this wireless communication system and method is characterized in that a relay station initial ranging period, a BW (bandwidth) request period, and further a remaining number of message notice period for each relay station to inform the wireless base station about a remaining number of messages are provided in the uplink subframe.
