PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner provided with a wind direction deflector capable of effectively deflecting a wind direction at a blowout opening, and capable of suppressing air blowing resistance. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger and an air blowing fan are provided in an air passage connecting a suction opening and the blowout opening, a vertical wind direction plate 5 is turnably provided on the blowout opening, and a horizontal wind direction plate 6 is turnably provided on the vertical wind direction plate 5. A drive unit 7 driving the horizontal wind direction plate 6 is composed of a drive motor 8 provided in one side part of the blowout opening, and a linking means 9 for linking the drive motor 8 and the horizontal wind direction plate 6.
