<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of preventing the occurrence of loose contact. <P>SOLUTION: The single-base fluorescent lamp 12 has four lamp pins 16 nearly along a straight line 17 passing the lamp axis 14 on the surface of a lamp base 13 in point symmetry to the lamp axis 14, and has a socket engaging part 15. The lamp socket 7 has a plurality of insertion holes 22 which make the lamp pins 16 inserted respectively and are turnably formed to have the lamp pins 16 and has pin receptacle parts 23 to which the lamp pins 16 contact in the insertion holes 22, and has a locking part 21 to which the socket engaging part 15 is engaged at a position where the lamp pins 16 do not contact the pin receptacle parts 23 and at a position where they contact the pin receptacle parts 23 by the turning of the single-base fluorescent lamp 12.
