<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent preignition by correcting parameters associated with the ignitability of hydrogen fuel in such a manner as to inhibit the preignition when compression leak is detected. <P>SOLUTION: In a control unit of a hydrogen engine, compression pressure is detected by detecting consumption current of a starter motor 47 operated for starting the engine 1 which uses hydrogen as fuel. When the detected compression pressure is lower than the initial compression pressure at the time of factory shipment, it is judged that the compression leak occurs because of wear of gas seals 8, 9. When the compression leak occurs, a control for prevention of the preignition such as leanizing of air-fuel ratio, delaying of ignition timing, increase in EGR amount or the like is performed. The preignition preventing control may be performed only during high-load operation, and it is possible to change the extent of the preignition preventing control according to the degree of the compression leak. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
