PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve focusing capability by improving evaluation value peak detection sensitivity. SOLUTION: A prediction value calculator 152 calculates a prediction value of a current evaluation value on the basis of a past evaluation value acquired by an evaluation value acquiring part 151 by using a least square method. A normalization difference value calculator 153 calculates a normalization difference value normalizing the difference value between a current evaluation value obtained by the evaluation value acquiring part 151 and the prediction value calculated by the prediction value calculator 152 by the current evaluation value. An evaluation peak determining part 154 detects the peak of the evaluation value by comparing the normalization difference value with a threshold holding a threshold holder 155.
